Restoration of wildlife habitat both on land and in our waterways is of utmost importance in our bid to allow our ecosystems to come to a new balance.  With care we can restore both our marine habitat and our Earth to sustainability.

Earth Day is tomorrow and this week we look at another important aspect of then earth Day theme Our Power, Our Planet, accountability.  At the Spruce Initiative both individual and community responsibility have been at the heart of our strategy.  We tech individuals to be reponnsible members of our world and local communities and for our communities to do likewise.

We take a proactive can do approach and encourage our individuals and communities to be accountable for their actions.  It is within our grasp to ensure a future of sustainability for our environment and our lives. Human waste can be used to make renewable fuels and fertilisers.  The fuels produced, petroleum products, and fertilisers are not clean sources of energy and release greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.  However  they are renewable as there is always human waste.  

Plastics can also be heated at high temperatures to produce petrochemicals.  However as with waste the resulting fuels and the process of producing these fuels releases greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.  The upside is the fuels produced are mobile.  So the bottom line is we do have renewable sources of energy however there is a cost to the environment.

Another aspect of the 2026 Earth Day Teme Our Power, Our Planet is the use of clean renewable sources of energy. In our bid to keep global warming to pre industrial levels we need to transition to clean, renewable energy sources.  These sources of power do not add to greenhouse gas emissions and hence are safer for the environment.

Clean Renewable sources of energy are wind power, hydro power, tidal power, solar power, and geothermal power.  These sources of power are clean and renewable.  MassTransit can rely on these sources of power.  There is only one drawback.  When the power produced by these sources of power is stored in batteries harmful chemicals are returned to the environment at the end of their life ...
