Our Plans for The Spruce Iniiative

Jul 31, 2025

Coming Soon a Weekly Blog (to promote environmental advocacy) Feel free to comment.

At the Spruce Initiative we are aware that in the month of July people in both the Northern and the Southern hemisphere are in mid season. In both places people are focussed on their activities whether it be summer vacations, school, camp or work.

We encourage you to pause for a moment and reflect on the environment. Where ever you live, whether it is in the city, the suburbs, a township or the country. You can initiate a positive change in both the environment and in your life.

Practising with the Spruce Initiative is a methodology. It is a practice. Allow yourself a vacation if that is your choice. The Spruce Initiative isn’t a strict set of rules. It is a way of lifting. Remember to be kind to yourself too.

If you need to stay inside or you are housebound we suggest you do something to Spruce up your living environment. Just a little bit at a time.

We are endeavouring to make a calendar of cyclic and linear time which will be equally valid wherever you are in the world. We hope to be inclusive of all cultures, while maintaining our own cultural integrity.

Even if you are prepared to pick up one piece of rubbish a day, you are Sprucing. We hope you will also endeavour to engage in an annual gift giving to the Earth through the planting of a tree.

We are aware that your mailboxes fill quickly so we plan to only send one newsletter per calendar month.

We have put in place a green network which we believe was the first integrated network on the Internet when it was designed. In 2008. We hope in the future you will be able to use ithis tool to connect with those of like mind. It would also be good for eco travel. Do consider joining up.

We plan to start a weekly blog for education and as a forum for discussing issues relevant to the environment.

We intend to model a Utopian community. (No one chooses to live in rubbish.) We promote a can do attitude with a focus on root causes rather than symptomatic solutions. We accentuate the positive.

Best wishes for your endeavours in the month ahead.

Cheers,
Felicity
